Q – Do we need mesh for fire code?
A – No, we can use drops in place of mesh.
Q – Are drops a good alternative?
A – Yes, Drops will provide better sprinkler coverage, and will help for curtains to last longer.
Q – What part of the curtain is the weakest?
A – The mesh, it can tangle during laundry and get torne causing it to break down faster.
Q – Is OTRT the best option?
A – Yes, it offers faster and safer curtain change.
Q – How can KBI improve infection control in the future?
A – KBI has developed a way to install OTRT that no longer requires drilling holes for fasteners, these holes allow dust particles to enter the room from the ceiling that can cause further problems for the patients.
Q – Are swivel booms our only option?
A – No, KBI has developed a glider system that replaces traditional swivel booms in multi patient rooms.
Q – How is the glider system safer?
A – Swivel booms are mounted to the wall below the ceiling lift, this can cause injury from patients standing up and hitting the boom. The glider system developed and offered by KBI mounts to the ceiling and provides better privacy all around.
Q – Can curtain tracking become faulty?
A – yes, over time the holes drilled into t-bar can wear out and the hangers can become loose, With KBI and our new install procedure we can improve track function, longevity, and requires less maintenance over the years.
Q – How is OTRT installed into grid ceiling?
A – Traditionally a small hole is drilled into the t-bar and a fastener in mounted. KBI has developed a way around that so no holes are drilled and t-bar/ grid ceiling is never damaged.
Q – Can patients stay in the room during install of OTRT?
A – Yes, but only if KBI is installing into grid/ t-bar ceiling as we have developed a way to install that does not require drilling any holes.
Q – how much dust is caused when installing OTRT?
A – In most cases there is very little dust and more metal shavings from drilling into the t-bar/ grid ceiling, but KBI no longer has to do this so there is no concern when installing OTRT.
Q – Can KBI install in phases (units) of the hospital over time?
A – Yes, KBI can accommodate your needs in any way that benefits you.
Q – Is there a warranty with the tracking system?
A – Only if KBI does the installation do we offer a warranty. The warranty is covered for 3 years.
